Discina perlata (Fr.) Fr. Cup 4-10cm across, disc-shaped, with an incurved, wavy margin; inner surface bay brown to tan. often wrinkled or convoluted, outer surface pale yellowy brown or flesh-colored, often veined. Stem 5-l0mm long, very short, stout, solid; brownish tan; furrowed. Flesh brittle. Asci 450-12µ. Spores fusoid, with a short extension at each end, minutely warted, containing 3 oil drops. 30-35 x 12-13µ. Habitat singly or in groups on humus or rotting wood or near melting snowbanks in coniferous areas. Found widely distributed in northeast and northwest North America and in California. Season April-July. Not edible.
